On January 4, CryptoNovo, a notable NFT influencer, experienced a cyberattack that resulted in the theft of two CryptoPunks and various other NFTs, including Meebits, CloneX, Mutant Ape Yacht Club, and Bored Ape Yacht Club.
The attacker was able to quickly sell the two CryptoPunks for a total of over $300,000, while CryptoPunk #3706, associated with the influencer, was transferred and sold for 75 ETH, worth nearly $95,000.
Although it is uncertain whether the sale was completed by the owner or the attacker, CryptoNovo has indicated that he was hacked, although speculation of phishing has also been raised.
CryptoPunks, one of the earliest NFT collections, are typically valued at over $100,000.
