Wirex, a leading crypto payments platform, has partnered with Visa to expand its services in the Asia-Pacific and United Kingdom regions.
The partnership allows Wirex to become a U.K. and APAC Visa member, enabling the firm to offer its services in over 40 countries.
Wirex’s debit and prepaid cards support payments in over 250 cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ether, and Litecoin, attracting tech-savvy and increasingly affluent customers.
However, Wirex may face challenges promoting its card’s use in some Southeast Asian countries due to crypto payment bans, such as the one imposed by the Thailand Securities and Exchange Commission.
Overall, the partnership aims to capitalize on Wirex’s large customer base in the U.K. and expand its reach in the burgeoning APAC market.
