Uniswap, a decentralized exchange, has declared that people who use their platform have the ability to buy cryptocurrencies with credit or debit cards and bank transfers.

This service is provided in over 160 countries by their fintech partner MoonPay. Depending on the user’s location, the payment options may be limited.

Bank transfers are only available in some countries like the US, Brazil, SEPA and the UK. Initially, the currencies available for purchase include Ethereum (ETH), Dai (DAI), USD Coin (USDC), Tether (USDT), Wrapped Bitcoin (wBTC) and Wrapped Ether (wETH).

Unfortunately, US users won’t be allowed to get wETH or wBTC. The goal of this move is to make it easier for people to use self-custody, a way of controlling their own assets without the help of centralized intermediaries.
