The National Crime Agency (NCA) in the United Kingdom is currently accepting applications for a cryptocurrency investigator to join its National Cyber Crime Unit (NCCU) Crypto Cell.

This dedicated unit will be tasked with investigating UK cyber incidents related to cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin.

The investigator will be responsible for providing strategic and tactical advice on cases involving cryptocurrencies, recovering seed phrases and conducting blockchain tracing.

Successful applicants should have expertise in cryptocurrencies and experience with blockchain forensics for serious and organized crime cases.

The annual salary for the role is between £40,200 ($48,200) and £43,705 ($52,400), and applications must be submitted by January 10, 2023.

The NCA is seeking to bolster its regulatory efforts on cryptocurrencies as the government works to eradicate “dirty money” from the UK and introduced a bill in September 2022 to prevent money laundering and fraud, which includes the power to confiscate illegally-used cryptocurrencies.
