The Ton Foundation, a non-profit organization associated with TONCOIN, has launched TON Storage, a decentralized file-sharing and data storage solution that is similar to the Torrent file system but runs on the Ton open blockchain.

TON Storage allows users to store files of any size on the decentralized network and utilizes financial incentives through the use of smart contracts to ensure security and the ability for users to share files with others on the network.

Node operators, who host files for other users, can also receive payments for their services.

TON Storage is expected to compete with projects such as Filecoin and Storj and can be used by both individual users and services with a large audience.

TON Storage can also be used in conjunction with TON Sites and TON DNS to enable the launch of different sites without the need for a fixed IP address, centralized domain, or certified centralized center.

The Ton network, developed by the founders of Telegram Messenger, utilizes proof-of-stake and can handle millions of transactions per second through the use of smart contracts executed on the TON Virtual Machine (TVM).
