The Tezos Foundation has entered into a partnership with Google Cloud to support web3 application development on the Tezos blockchain.
As part of the deal, Google Cloud will serve as a validator, or “baker,” on the Tezos proof-of-stake blockchain. The partnership aims to enable Google Cloud’s enterprise clients to develop and deploy web3 applications on the Tezos blockchain using Google’s cloud infrastructure. In addition, select Tezos-backed startups will be eligible for Google Cloud credits and mentorship.
James Tromans, Engineering Director of Web3 at Google Cloud, expressed excitement about the partnership, saying, “We look forward to bringing the dependability and scalability of Google Cloud to power Web3 applications on Tezos.”
The collaboration marks Google Cloud’s second foray into the blockchain space, following its agreement last year to run a validator node on the gaming-centric Ethereum sidechain Ronin, and its launch of a blockchain node-hosting engine for Ethereum developers.
