Do Kwon, CEO of Terraform Labs, who is wanted by Interpol and is thought to have taken refuge in Serbia, is reported to have made his first Bitcoin withdrawal since his escape.
Digital Asset, a Korean news source, said Kwon had sent 9.64 BTC, worth around $120,000, using a LFG Luna Foundation Guard wallet.
It is speculated that Serbia was chosen as Kwon’s destination due to its lack of an extradition agreement with South Korea and the ease of depositing and withdrawing cryptocurrency.
South Korean prosecutors are apparently aware of the transaction and consider that the BTC had possibly been changed into fiat money.
Meanwhile, Sam Bankman-Fried, one of the most notorious crypto scammers of the year, has been arrested and extradited to the US.
