Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse has praised recent regulatory developments in the global cryptocurrency industry, calling them “energizing.”
In a series of tweets, Garlinghouse highlighted the positive steps taken by various countries to provide clarity and direction to the sector, including Dubai’s comprehensive set of tech-agnostic rulebooks for crypto market participants, Australia’s reforms to licensing and custody for cryptocurrencies, and the UK’s pursuit to become a global crypto hub.
Garlinghouse also praised South Korea for publishing guidelines to differentiate between security and payment tokens and for providing clarity on what would be considered a security token and a payment token.
The Ripple CEO criticized the lack of progress in the US, but praised other countries for “providing leadership and doing the work that we are desperately missing”.
