OpenSea, the leading marketplace for digital collectibles and non-fungible tokens (NFTs), has announced the integration of Arbitrum Nova, a Layer 2 blockchain designed to provide low-cost data availability.
By integrating NFTs on this blockchain, OpenSea users will now have access to a more affordable option for buying and selling digital collectibles compared to using Ethereum.
This development follows OpenSea’s integration of Arbitrum, another scaling network developed by Offchain Labs, in September 2022.
Collections on Arbitrum Nova will be grouped with other Arbitrum collections on the OpenSea website.
Although OpenSea is not the first NFT marketplace to adopt Nova, which is also supported by smaller competitors such as Trove by TreasureDAO, Babylons, and ToFu, as well as Reddit’s community point tokens, the blockchain is still in a phase of limited adoption.
According to Defillama’s data, Arbitrum Nova currently has a total value locked (TVL) of $890,000.
