Avraham Eisenberg, the Mango Markets exploiter, has been ordered to be detained by the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico.

The decision was made after a detention hearing in which it was determined that “no condition or combination of conditions of release will reasonably assure [Eisenberg’s] appearance as required” and that Eisenberg’s potential lengthy incarceration period, if convicted, and significant ties outside of the United States were also considered.

Eisenberg was arrested on December 28 on charges of market manipulation and fraud in relation to the exploitation of the Solana-based decentralized exchange Mango Markets, which he admitted to being at least partially responsible for.

Eisenberg had previously claimed that his actions were legal because he used the protocol as it was designed.
