Last year, esports powerhouse Team SoloMid (TSM) found itself in the midst of a fallout with FTX, a centralized crypto-endemic partner.

However, TSM has not given up on crypto engagement. Instead, the organization is looking to build its own designated Avalanche-based subnet and more through a new partnership with blockchain Avalanche.

TSM is a legendary esports organization with over a dozen years of operation in a relatively young landscape. The organization currently competes in popular titles like League of Legends, Apex Legends, Dota 2, R6S, Valorant, and more.

Tuesday’s announcement from Avalanche reveals a competitive gaming partnership that spans across TSM and their gaming platform subsidiary, Blitz.

Under the new deal, Avalanche becomes the Exclusive Blockchain Partner for both TSM and Blitz. The partnership will see Blitz build out their own designated Avalanche Subnet.

This is different from TSM’s previous partnership with FTX, which was centralized. FTX’s downfall caused fallout, but TSM is still willing to play in the crypto space.

Esports and crypto are a natural fit, and TSM is not the only organization to recognize this. Blockchain technology offers several benefits to the esports industry, such as secure and transparent transactions, secure storage of player data, and more.

The partnership with Avalanche allows TSM to continue to explore the potential of crypto and blockchain technology in esports.
