Blockchain firm Eclipse has revealed its new blockchain, called Polygon SVM, which is built for the Polygon network and compatible with Solana.

The goal of this new blockchain is to enable Solana developers to move their applications to Polygon without having to rebuild their code for the Ethereum Virtual Machine.

Polygon SVM is a sovereign rollup blockchain that uses the SeaLevel Virtual Machine, which allows Rust-based Solana apps to be deployed on other blockchains like Polygon.

The Polygon SVM testnet is expected to launch in Q1 2023, followed by the mainnet in Q2. With this new development, Solana developers will have more options to expand their applications to other blockchains, opening up new possibilities for the Solana ecosystem.
