Canadian rapper Drake has won $1,262,000 worth of bitcoin after betting on the Kansas City Chiefs to win Super Bowl LVII and Patrick Mahomes to score a touchdown.
His successful wager comes after a winning bet of $300,000 in BTC on last year’s Super Bowl. However, Drake’s streak of bad luck in predicting other sports results has led to the creation of the term “the Drake curse.”
Meanwhile, cryptocurrency companies that promoted themselves during last year’s Super Bowl were absent this year. Food and beverage giants replaced them, reflecting the shrinking interest in the asset class.
