ConsenSys, a leading Ethereum development firm, has acquired Hal, a blockchain notification tool that helps users create alerts for activities like trading, voting, and tax compliance.

While the financial details of the acquisition have not been disclosed, it includes 10 Hal employees and over 40 APIs for blockchain listening and signals.

The APIs will be integrated into ConsenSys’ Web3 connectivity layer, Infura, to make it easier to use for developers building on the decentralized internet.

The acquisition comes at a time when there is increasing demand for low-code or no-code tools with similar functionalities to those used by seasoned developers.

According to E.G. Galano, co-founder of Infura, users prefer to receive alerts about blockchain activities rather than searching for them.

The acquisition is expected to strengthen ConsenSys’ capabilities in Web3 development, making it easier for users to slice and dice raw data from the blockchain.
