The Central African Republic (CAR) has declared that it will not be adding its national cryptocurrency, Sango Coin, to its listing due to the “current market conditions,” as reported by Sango Coin’s marketing team on a Telegram channel.
The CAR was originally planning to add the coin by the end of 2022, but the decision has been met with much less investor enthusiasm and a court ruling that found the government’s proposal to grant citizenship to Sango currency holders to be unlawful.
Despite these obstacles, the CAR administration is still continuing with the token sale, which is currently in its second cycle.
The CAR is also preparing to launch a Sango bitcoin sidechain testnet in the first quarter of 2023 before rolling out a national mobile smartphone program.
