BitKeep, a multi-chain wallet, has announced that it will issue full refunds to victims of a hacking incident that took place in December, resulting in a loss of $8 million for the project.
Victims can submit their claims to BitKeep and the team will begin repaying them. The refunds are expected to be completed by March and will be converted to USDT stablecoin.
The incident occurred when hackers counterfeited the BitKeep wallet app and distributed a malicious version to unsuspecting users, allowing them to extract wallet seed phrases and steal funds.
The BitKeep team is urging users to be vigilant and download the official version of the wallet from their website.
